seen & heard

Wow, lucky girl. I'm so excited to share with you my recent fortune. In November, I was asked by Lynn Caldwell, the director of the Fine Line, if I would like to be the artist highlighted in the December issue of Fox Valley Magazine. Well, I was elated! I just received my copy last week (If you would like to read it, here's the pdf)

Then last week, Denise from Bellis Studios mentioned one of my pieces, Crimson Energy on her guest blog for wishpot
What an exciting couple of weeks. Being published has been one of my goals for a couple of years. Thank you so much for the opportunity to share.

Inspirational Vessels

Here's a fun commissioned project I did right before the holiday craziness. I love how the vessels resemble little soldiers ready to deliver a message of encouragement. They are between 1.5 and 2 inches tall. All hand-crafted from PMC, which is fine silver once fired. Here are a few of the inspirational sayings.
find your voice and sing.
light each tomorrow with today.
count your blessings.
inspire.

I plan on creating other similar vessels. Especially since I sold them all now. Even the "wish" cauldron I mentioned in my Halloween post.
It was fun, but a little stressful to work in a series. I usually just create what's in my head at the moment. And if you are anything like me, you know what's in my head is usually very fleeting.

a new year

Happy (although belated) New Year.
Be the change you would like to see in the world. - ghandi
The picture above is a background I painted in the studio on Wednesday. Then digitally added the saying Thursday night. I must be honest, this was originally intended to be my Holiday card, but time just slipped away.
From the tardiness of this New Years post, you must know, I did not resolve to be timely. But I did make some worthwhile resolutions. I’ll share a few:
} more studio time in 2009
} but realize that there is only so much time in the day
} be a better me : laugh more, forgive more, concentrate on my actions - not those of others.
} be a healthier me : exercise, eat healthy, grow stronger
} teach more~learn more : be more open with my knowledge and seek out and receive knowledge from other creative souls
} exhibit more : seek out more venues to sell and show my work.
} be proactive : find opportunities, don’t wait for them to appear

Thank you to everyone that made 2008 such a wonderful year for me. From my students at the Fine Line, to my admirers in the North Woods and right around the corner, to my lovely, supportive friends and family. THANK YOU. Now on to 2009. I would love to hear your resolutions, intentions, thoughts and goals.
